The overall experience was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend the Privet school to anyone seeking to learn Russian in a local setting.
All email exchanges with the school to process the application and official invitation were dealt with promptly and ensured a smooth visa application process. On arrival, in keeping with the best traditions of Russian hospitality I was made to feel very welcome and there was a real sense of attention to detail and engagement with my needs as a student in a foreign country and in a city I had never been to before. The school’s own flat is very comfortable and as an added bonus has a range of classic Russian films available on DVD.
I would like to pay special thanks to my teacher Marina who really focussed her expert attention on my many weaknesses and provided me with a level of understanding regarding points of grammar, phonetics and other topics that surpassed my expectations. I attended classes for just over 3 weeks as part of a study holiday and Marina’s classes were superbly tailored to meet my needs for this period along with the excellent course books and materials.
Combined with this there was the opportunity to take advantage of a number of excursions, social events and to make contact through the school with local Russians who are learning English. From my time there I can understand why the school enjoys repeat business from its students and I think this very much reflects the dedicated approach to Russian language learning that the team at Privet provides.

Zum Sprachkurs bei "PRIVET!" kann ich nur Positives berichten! Der erste gute Eindruck von Anton persönlich, pünktlich vom Flugplatz abgeholt zu werden.
Der Lehrpersonal bemühte sich sehr, mir auf einfache, verständliche Weise Grundketnisse in russisch beizubringen. Besonders der Einzelunterricht mit Olga war eine Bereicherung.
Auch die Exursionen am Wochenende mir Resieführer Sergej waren sehr gut und er überrascht immer wieder mit seinen fundierten Kentnissen über Land und deutsch-russische Kultur.
Die Unterbringung bei Frau Alexandra war dem Umfeld entsprechend sehr gut und gastfreundlich.
Insgesamt waren dies für mich sehr lehrreiche und interresante Wochen.

They really helped me a lot before I came here. Anton answered all my questions promptly.
My teacher Marina really helped me with the Russian Grammar and I now understand most of it.
So for a start with the Russian language “PRIVET!” is the best!

Dear Members of PRIVET! Russian language school!
Thank you very much for the excellent lessons I got, as well as for the opportunity to join your great excursions and for the many favours!
I really enjoyed spending my time at your place, always meeting other students to talk to, being offered biscuits and hot drinks and – if necessary – a helping hand.
Before the time that I came to Kaliningrad, I spent 1,5 year trying to learn some Russian at my University, at evening courses and by myself. Never was I as satisfied as during my stay in Kaliningrad, taking individual lessons at PRIVET!. I got to know different teachers, all of whom were very friendly and professional. The explanations, i.e. grammar, vocabulary, “mental” topics, use to be profound and helpful. I came to terms with chapters of Russian language I though I’d never learn, like Genetiv Plural, verbs of motion or prefixes. Moreover I feel much more apt to express myself in Russian since we were talking a lot during the lessons. Of course, learning a language never comes to an end, but at your school I reached more than I dared to expect. I hope to be able to come back one day soon. Let me once again say thank you and wish the very best to all of you and your kin!
