LOT AIrlines: comeback soon

LOT Polish Airlines Company has an intention to reinstate air connection between Warsaw and Kaliningrad, says Consul General Marek Golkowski.

"At present, LOT is doing some preliminary works to reinstate the connection. It's too soon yet to discuss the date, when the flights could be renewed again, but  LOT will definitelyoperate the flights to Kaliningrad", Consul says.

Formerly, the reinstation of air connection between Warsaw and Kaliningrad was planned on November 2009, but that decision was cancelled for some unexpected reasons.

It's a widespread notion, that LOT has stopped operating the flights in 2008 because of the strong competition from the side of KD Avia (former Kaliningrad Airport resident flight operator). So it can seem that now, since there is no more KD Avia in Kaliningrad Airport, LOT can feel itself far more secure on the Kaliningrad air transport market and will be back quite soon.

At the moment, there is only AirBaltic company managing international flights in Klainingrad Airport and, in fact,  the only international route - to and from Riga.
