Hallo liebes Privet - Team,
als Teilnehmer des Sommerkurses 2005 in Eurer Schule möchte ich mich recht herzlich fur alles bedanken. Es war ein unvergessendes Erlebnis mit einen sehr guten Lernergebnis. Mein primäres Ziel, die Scheu vor dem sprechen in russischer Sprache loszuwerden ist zu 100 % aufgegangen. Dies konnte ich bereits auf der Rückfahrt im Minibus praktisch erleben, da ich im Gegensatz zum Hinfahrt geredet habe wie ein Wasserfall. Dies kann nur erreicht werden mit einem Team, was sich für die unterschiedlichen Belange der Schüler einsetzt. Sowohl in schulischer Hinsicht als auch in den Bereichen der personlichen Betreuung während des gesamten Aufenthaltes. Dies war während meiner Zeit absolut perfekt.

A very good place to learn Russian! Marina, the teacher was simply great. She should really write the Russian grammar book for foreigner students. Her way of teaching is useful and it helped me so much in solving some problems I had before coming here.
Irina, the director was always so sweet and nice with communication with us. I am sure everything was running well. For this reason she was also called the "Russian mom" because always caring about the students.
The rest of the stuff was also very helpful and kind. The school organized interesting excursions during the weekends. I made many friends from all over the world and I am more that sure I will come back here again! Even if an English speaker guide would have been very appreciated.

My stay in Kaliningrad was quite simply one of the best holidays I have ever had. Before I arrived I did not know much about either the city or the school, but almost immediately realised I had made a good choice in deciding to study Russian with Privet in Kaliningrad. I stayed with a friendly host family in a house about three minutes walk from the school. The accommodation and food were good, the location superb.
I found the classes to be both challenging and enjoyable. I was encouraged to speak Russian as much as possible and found that all my language skills had significantly improved by the end of the course. The quality of teaching was first rate, both professional and friendly.
Besides going to classes I saw a good deal of the Kaliningrad region. The school organized a number of trips to various interesting locations in the area. In addition the school helped me to meet some local Russians so that I could practice speaking and have someone to show me around the town. I came to really like the city. Of course it has some ugly buildings, but for the most part it is pretty and with lots to do.
Everyone at Privet obviously cares about the students who come to Kaliningrad. It is for this reason, more than any other, that when I go on my next Russian course I will come back to Kaliningrad to study with Privet.

I have really enjoyed my stay in Kaliningrad, mostly because Privet has been a wonderful place to study. Inga is an amazing, patient, compassionate teacher, and I was very pleased to work with her. The facilities of the school are also exceptional. I think that the greatest advantage of Privet is its small size and informal atmosphere. Thank you so much for all of the personal attention and all of the help you gave me during my time here.
My suggestion for improvement are few as for the most part everything was exceptional. The initial excursions were, however, somewhat unstaunched that is, the excursions (that took place before there were many students). Perhaps a tentative itinerary for the trips (departure time, approximate duration, time of meals + type (picnic or restaurant), and projected return time) could be posted on the refrigerator. Also, a one-page introduction to the destination city (with fun facts, statistics, history, and a list of things to do might also be good - perhaps it could even be incorporated into the group program lessons.
That suggestion is minor, of course. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

On the excursions
I am very pleased with my stay in every way: the tuition was excellent, Marina was a outstanding teacher! Besides, the apartment was perfect, the organization and excursions too. It will be very hard to find the important since it seems to be unnecessary.
The excursions however could be more adapted to the student's contacts, in advance some places could be introduced, like Svetlogorsk (opportunity to swim, ride paddleboat on a lake, bring picnic or bring cash, interesting buildings, etc) This way it would be easier to plan meals and when how to do homework if meet with others and so on. Just a short briefing like time of journey 45 min, walk around 30 min, have lunch somewhere, around 13:00, swimmming... we will be back around 19:00.
I will recommend this course to every student I meet, and definitely come back next year. You are the best! Thanks for two wonderful weeks!

Organisation: hervorragend. Transfer vom/zum Bahnhof - Transfer von/zur Schule. Einweisung Stadt/zentrale Punkte.
Ausflüge Kurische Nehrung/Haff hervorragend - Stadtrundfahrt hervorragend. Die interessansten Punkte wurde zielgerecht angesteuert und gezeigt. Uber die Kurische Nehrung könnte man fast ein Buch verfassen, so begeistert waren wir von dem Ausflüg einschliesslich des Super-Fischlokal.
Unterkunft. Sehr gut. Nette Gastgeber, üppiges Essen - eignete sich leider nicht zur Diät. Geraumige Unterkunft und grosses Bad. Es war für uns hoch interessant. Vor allem hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Zentrale Lage. Insider-Tipp: Das der "ersten Brotfabrik" gegenüberliegende Cafe ist sehr zu empfehlen. Offnungszeiten 12.00 -24.00 Uhr. Sehr gut eingerichtet und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Nicht zu vergessen das Restaurant "Rasguljaj".
Unterricht. Spitzenklasse !! So einpragsam hatten wir noch nie die russische Grammatik gelernt. In der kurzen Zeit haben wir Dank Irina sehr viel russisch gelernt. Es war ein sehr anstrengender aber lehrreicher Untericht, der uns in der Kenntnis und Anwendung der russichen Sprache sehr weit gebracht hat.
Gesamturteil: "Privet" ist eine sehr zu empfehlende Sprachschule und Organisation. Wir werden Sie weiterempfehlen.

teacher Inga so patient and professional, from the lovely excursions,
from my companions and from the wonderful family I was living with.

Я благополучно вернулся в Штутгарт. Только поездка была немного долгая: почти 23 часа. Польские таможенники осматривали людей, паспорта и в особенности багаж очень основательно; мы ждали на границе часа 2. Итак, после поездки я немного устал и только сейчас разбудил свой компьютер.
По пути я долго размышлял о том, что мне в школе не понравилось, чем я мог бы быть недоволен. К сожалению, я ничего не мог придумать; по-моему всё было очень хорошо: приветствие, первая информационная прогулка с Дмитрием; интересные, интенсивные уроки у Марины; очень интересные и хорошие экскурсии с Сергеем и Ильей; уютная, хорошая квартира… И любезная атмосфера у Вас. И кроме того красивый город. И прекрасная природа, в особенности в последний день на Куршской Косе!
Поэтому я никаких улучшений не могу Вам предлагать. (Боюсь, что Вы не можете добиваться, чтобы комары на Куршской Косе были миролюбивее!)
Улучшать только нужно мой русский язык (думаю, что это видно по этому письме). Итак, я надеюсь, что мы увидимся в следующем году!

My overall impression of the school was very good. My teachers (Irina, Inga and once Marina) were motivated and good, even if I was a difficult student.
The organized excursions with Sergej were outstanding. He is the great guide with the enormous knowledge of the region Kaliningrad.
I was extremely positively surprised by the student’s apartment. I did not expect that much luxury.
Still I have a few remarks regarding two subjects. The test in the beginning and the choice of tandem partner.

The test in the beginning does not show, whether the problem of the students are grammar or vocabulary. A test of two parts, one with grammar and easy vocabulary, the other with easy grammar and advanced vocabulary, perhaps gives a better impression of the student’s knowledge. I was a bit disappointed, that after the test we still were in one group, although the levels regarding grammar and vocabulary were completely different.

The second point is the choice of the tandem partner. With my first one I had nothing in common and the meeting was frustrating for both of us. The second one I met unfortunately only three days before I left. But we had the great time together. My suggestion is to ask both students and Russian tandem partners three simple questions:
- What are your main interest? (only two or three subjects)
- What do you expect from the partnership?
- What is your level of knowledge in Russian respectively English/German/…?
With this information in a simple data base it will be easier to find a good tandem partner at once.
As mentioned before, the overall impression of the school is good. And I will recommend “Privet” to everybody who wants to learn Russian language in Russia. I liked it here very much, both in Kaliningrad and at the school. I am sorry, I have to leave already. Perhaps I come back.

My original target was to brush-up my almost non-existent Russian-language a bit and specially learn batch of Russian-phrases that would help my everyday-life when travelling around the country. After the one week intensive first level grammar studies, I was convinced that I got lot more. Even I first argued that I do not need so much grammar, but just sentences how to order tickets, hotels, meals, etc...I was wrong to note that by understanding the basic grammar, the language started open and develop. Not so much progress in speaking, but more in understanding and picking up the words from spoken and written Russian. This is somehow different than what I have experienced in other languages such as German or English. Unfortunately, at this moment I do not have so much time to Russian studies, but I try to utilize every visit in Russia as much as I can.
The arrangement for studies, transportation and accommodation were well organized and teaching was very professional, 1st class, thanks to Marina. For excursions and cultural events I do not have much to comment due to my limited experience and time there. However, I see the understanding of local culture as important as a language itself, thus cultural events are very important part of learning language. Living at the host family was nice and convenient. Hospitality of the host family really ensured that there was no way to loose weight during the stay. Also, it was a good opportunity to get deeper insight for the society, manners and values.
As mentioned earlier, I am interested in to continue my Russian studies in your net-school, hoping that the implementation of the program will be early next year. Please, keep me informed. I assume that I would have some two hours (time in net connection) per week to use for Russian language studies for six months periods at the time.

Also, erst einmal vielen Dank für alles. Der Aufenthalt hätte nicht besser sein können. Angefangen von der Organisation, die nicht besser hätte ablaufen können, bis hin zur Unterkunft, die den Standart einer Westeuropäischen Wohnung hat. Wäre vielleicht nicht schlecht, wenn ihr die Fotos der Wohnung im Internet veröffentlicht, da die Wohnung bestimmt ein paar Studenten Überzügen würde, sich für Schule „Privet!“ zu entscheiden.
Fazit: Das Wort „Problem“, scheint es bei euch nicht zu geben, da alles sehr schnell gelöst und erledigt wird. Auch bei den anderen Lehrern, habt ihr eine sehr gute Wahl getroffen. Da vor allem Marina weiß, wie den Stoff am besten beibringt! Was an Marina außerdem noch sehr positiv war, dass sie sich die Probleme, falls es welche gab, angehört hat.(natürlich auf Russisch) und ebenfall bemüht war, diese aus dem Weg zu schaffen. (z.B. das Platzproblem, dass es in der letzten Woche meines Aufenthalts war) Nicht zu vergessen, der tolle Service von Marina abends mich anzuregen, und mir dadurch Angast vor Russischreden am Telefon zu nehmen.
Die Ausflüge waren ebenfalls sehr schön, jedoch wird es im Sommer bestimmt schöner. :-)
Außerdem möchte ich mich noch bei den zahlreichen Tandempartnerinen bedanken, die für meinen Spracherfolg ebenfalls verantwortlich waren. Denn was nutzt die beste Lehrerin der Welt, ohne Praxis, das Gelernte anzuwenden.
Euro so genannte Bewertung muss ich jedoch leider abgeben. Und zwar stand im Internet, dass man die Gebühren mit Kreditkarte bezahlen kann. Daraufhin habe ich extra noch eine E-Mail geschrieben, um mich zu versichern. In dieser E-Mail wurde mir ausdrücklich noch mal gesagt, dass das Bezahlen mit Kreditkarte kein Problem wäre. Jedoch war es dann nicht so wie beschrieben, sondern ich musste das ganze Geld abheben und dadurch Gebühren auf mich nehmen, die nicht gerade sehr billig waren. . Naja egal, ich hatte ja eine schöne Zeit und möchte mich gar nicht beschweren, dennoch wäre es besser, wenn ihr die Studenten darauf aufmerksam macht, wie ihr euer Geld haben wollt, damit es nächstes Mal keine Probleme gibt.
Also, ich glaube, das war es denn. Noch einmal vielen Dank für alles. Ich werde euch auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Denn für eine Schule, die alles hält, was sie verspricht, ist es nicht schwer Werbung zu machen.
Danke an Ilya für das häufige Hin und Herkutschieren, und dafür dass man dich eigentlich immer anrufen konnte, falls man Probleme hatte.
Ein großer Dank auch an Irina, die immer Vorschläge brachte, was am Abend in Kaliningrad abgehet (z.B. der tolle Chor im Deutsch-Russischen Haus) und nicht zu vergessen Marina. Noch einmal vielen, vielen Dank.
Ich glaube das wars jetzt. Bis zum nächsten Mal (osl. Am 17. September!)

Я с удовольствием участвовала в занятиях Вашей школы. Мне всё понравилось. Особенно экскурсии, организованные Вами. Отношение работников школы, учителей к студентам очень хорошие и дружеские. Я многому научилась, и всё буду использовать не только на работе, то также и в жизни.
Ещё хотела бы сказать, что, в начале, когда я приехала, почувствовала дискомфорт по поводу паспорта, который надо было отдать на три дня. Я хочу обратить внимание на то, что паспорт для иностранцев – это самый важный документ и без него мы очень плохо себя чувствуем. И это всё. Кроме этого я очень довольна. Хотела бы приехать снова.

Mit unserem Aufenthalt in Kaliningrad war ich im ganzen sehr zufrieden. Der Russischunterricht war interessant, vielfältig und anregend gestaltet. Das Besichtigungs – und Kulturprogramm war sehr reichhaltig und hat mir einen nachhaltigen Eindruck von Kaliningrad und seiner Umgebung vermittelt.
Verständlicherweise hat das Kursprogramm im Zusammenhang mit den Jubiläumsfeiern die positive Entwicklung der Stadt betont. Ich hätte allerdings auch gerne etwas über die politische und wirtschaftlichen Probleme des Kaliningrader Gebiets erfahren, denn das Bewustsein dieser Probleme ist die Voraussetzung für eine Entwicklung der Beziehungen zwischen Kaliningrad und Europa in der Zukunft.

Ich habe im Juni 2005 einen zweiwöchigen Individualkurs bei "Privet" belegt, und kann nach meinem Aufenthalt dort die Schule nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Die beiden Lehrer die mich betreut hatten waren hochmotiviert, und aufgrund des Einzelunterrichts konnten wir das Lerntempo ganz individuell gestalten und gute Fortschritte im Russischen erzielen. Aber nicht nur die Lehrer, sondern alle Mitarbeiter von "Privet" waren sehr hilfsbereit und haben sich zu jeder Zeit um die Studenten gekümmert. Wir wurden auf kulturelle Veranstaltungen hingewiesen, haben schöne Ausflüge in Kaliningrad und dem Umland gemacht. Auch die Unterbringung in der Gastfamilie war sehr interessant und bereichernd. Alles in allem ein absolut lohnender Aufenthalt, den ich gerne wiederholen würde.

Ich habe sehr positive Eindrücke gewonnen! Der Unterricht bei Inga war sehr klar und gut aufgebaut. Sie hat einfühlsam, freundlich und humorvoll mit uns gearbeitet.
Die Unterkunft bei Nadeshda (ul. Watutina 23) war ebenfalls angenehm; sie war hilfsbereit und sehr nett, immer offen für meine Fragen.
Herzlichen Dank für das Ausflugsprogramm, vor allem dafür, meinen unerträglichen Wunsch, die Kuische Nehrung zu besuchen, zu erfüllen.
Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit, freundlich und machen eine gute Arbeit.

The course was very well organized and the staff was very professional. The excursions were excellent and very informative. The accommodation was of an excellent high standard as were the greatest in the school. It was very good that the school is able to arrange it is regard to people’s wishes or their profession. I feel that more information on next mail be involved in the course, is for beginners, could have been given on the web-site. It may also be a good when if in the office there are photos with names of the stuff and what their position is. Overall I think that the Course has been excellent and will recommend it. I also felt that my teacher Inga was very patient with me, has an excellent approach to her job. It appears that nothing is too much trouble for you guys. The tandem partner was also good, but perhaps trying to match people with similar interests, should it taken into amount more.

Я не хочу прозевать возможность вам сказать, что моё пребывание в Калининграде мне очень понравилось. Урок был всегда интересным и особенно атмосфера была очень приятна. Я прекрасно понимаю, что это трудно совместить совершенно разных людей с разными языковыми уровнями, но, хотя я заметила, что вы боялись, что мне занятия в группе не нравятся, это было совсем не так. Мне было очень интересно узнать других людей и своё мнение и учиться вместе с Кончитой мне так понравилось!
Инга и Марина, вы очень хорошие учительницы, потому что вы очень хорошо умеете объяснять русский язык и никогда не выходите из терпения.
Наши экскурсии мне тоже понравились, особенно когда мы ехали на Куршскую косу.
Мне очень жаль, что я ничего не писала о том, что мне не понравилось. Не думайте, что мне стыдно писать об этом, но это просто потому, что мне ничего не пришло в голову, что мне не понравилось. Я думаю, что это очень хороший признак. Поэтому я хочу приехать ещё раз в следующем году и продолжить учить русский язык.

Dear friends,
we wish to write you these few lines to share with you our impressions on the time we spent together.
There are many a reasons why we are happy with our stay in Kaliningrad.
Lessons had been thoroughly prepared and were therefore very effective and useful. We particularly enjoyed the limited number of students per class and the number of books students have at their disposal.
The tandem partners are particularly helpful and smooth the student integration in the everyday life. To be specific, our tandem partners were very nice and we would recommend them to any future Italian or German student.
We appreciated the organization of the excursions. The pace of one/two excursions per week is well tailored and it gives a nice opportunity to discover the Kaliningrad's Region.
Everybody in the school has been very kind to us in a number of situations. Only to mention a few, you helped us in having our hair cut, provided us with pictures and... many more occasions including making KBAC and supporting us in the everyday problems. By the way, we showed our parents the dvd of the Russian Choir and they were enthusiast. My sister asked me to make a copy for her. We thank you a lot for the birthday party: I (Matteo) will never forget having the Crocodile Gena's song singen especially for me in front of a real Samovar.
It is a difficult task to find things that could be improved.
We believe all students going to Kaliningrad are keen to discover the delicious dishes of the celebrated Russian "Cuisine". This is why we would recommend you to consider typical Russian restaurants for group lunches/dinners. For example, it is our belief that the restaurant "Mjod
- Honey" (Lenininskji Prospekt) is the best you can find in Kaliningrad.
As it concerns the group lessons, there is one remark I (Matteo) would like to do. It is for sure extremely difficult to make a lesson for students with completely different background, personality, wishes and maturity. It is therefore necessary to make a compromise between the needs of less-prepared students and the ambitious goals of more advanced learners. Nevertheless, it should never happen that a student does not understand half of the content of a lesson or that there is any correlation between the insistence of a student and the fulfillment of his desires.
The contribution from the students is essential to keep the apartment in a proper condition. For instance, we would suggest that the students never use the washing machine when it is almost empty.

1. Grundsätzliches
Meine Entscheidung in Kaliningrad an der Sprachschule „PRIVJET“ einen rus. Sprachkurs zu absolvieren war eine gute Entscheidung. Das angebotene Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmte. Mir wurde nicht der Eindruck vermittelt, dass man nur der Bezahler einer Leistung ist, sondern es wurde auf meine persönlichen Wünsche und Belange eingegangen. Hierzu danke ich ganz besonders meinen beiden „Utschtelnitzas“ Inga und Marina, der Geschäftsführerin Irina, sowie dem Manager für Protokollservice Ilja.
Meine Bilanz für meinen Aufenthalt in der Sprachschule „PRIVJET“ ist durchweg positiv und ich bin überzeugt, dass ich schon sehr bald wieder in Kaliningrad einen Sprachkurs absolvieren werde.
Meine nachfolgenden angeführten Punkte bitte ich nicht als Kritik zu verstehen, sondern als konstruktiven Beitrag aufzufassen, um die Qualität von „PRIVJET“ noch weiter zu verbessern:
2. Schule
- Es wurde im Vorfeld von Privjet schriftlich zugesagt, dass man mit Kreditkarte bezahlen kann. Nach meiner Ankunft in Kaliningrad wurde mir von Ilja mitgeteilt, dass man nur in bar oder mit der EC Karte Geld abheben konnte. Dadurch sind mir zusätzliche Kosten für das Abheben von Bargeld entstanden (25€). Zusagen sollten eingehalten werden.
- Die Unterrichtsräume in der Wohnung Dobrolubova waren nur mit niedrigen Sesseln und niedrigen Tischen ausgestattet. Da ich Rückenprobleme habe war dies sehr unbequem für mich. Auch war der Tisch zu klein, so dass die Unterrichtsmaterialien nicht alle auf den Tisch passten. Ein normal hoher Tisch mit einem richtigen Stuhl wäre da schon angebrachter gewesen.
- Es wäre besser, wenn die Schule etwas näher im Zentrum liegen würde. Von Dobrolubova zum Zentrum ist es in der Mittagspause zu weit. In der nähe gab es kein Restaurant.
3. Unterricht
- Es hätten mehr Übungen mit den verschiedenen Modellen gemacht werden müssen ( in meinem Fall sehr schwierig; 8h/Tag und nur 2 Wochen Kurs, die Zeit war sehr knapp).
- Für mich persönlich hätten einige Einheiten mit einem speziellen Vokabeltraining eingelegt werden sollen. Da ich noch Anfänger bin, ist es sehr schwer für mich die schwierigen rus. Vokabeln zu behalten.
- Marina hätte vielleicht manchmal etwas deutlicher schreiben sollen. Da ich in der rus. Sprache nur Druckschrift lesen kann, war es manchmal für mich schwierig die Schriftsprache von Marina zu lesen.
- Im nachhinein war es ein Fehler gewesen, einen Kurs mit 8 h pro Tag zu belegen. Mit den darauf folgenden Hausaufgaben blieb keine Zeit mehr Kontakt zu Russen (Tandempartner) zu knüpfen um das gelernte auch anzuwenden. Vielleicht beim nächsten mal.
4. Betreuung
- Die Betreuung war durchweg gut. Es gab immer Ansprechpartner ob persönlich oder per Telefon (super).
- Das Besichtigungsprogramm ebenfalls super, klasse organisiert, nur das Wetter hätte besser sein können.
- Um sich in Kaliningrad besser orientieren zu können, sollte eine Liste von Bars, Kneipen, Restaurants und Diskotheken in der Schule ausgelegt werden. In diesen Listen sollte die jeweilige Lokalität kurz beschrieben werden, Preisniveau, Publikum (jung, Mittelalter, Altertum, vornehm, rustikal, modern). Auch sollten dieser Liste einige Fotos der Lokalitäten beigefügt werden.
- Es sollte ein Rahmenvertrag mit einem Taxiunternehmen abgeschlossen werden (sicherer Taxiservice auch in der Nacht). Manchmal war es sehr abenteuerlich um 1:00 Morgens ein Taxi in der Stadt anzuhalten und bei geringen Sprachkenntnissen kann das schon zu einem Abenteuer ausarten. So kam es, dass die Preise bei den jeweiligen Fahrern sehr stark variierten und man war bis zum Ende der Taxifahrt nicht sicher, ob man auch da ankommt wo man hinwollte.
5. Unterkunft
- Meine Unterkunft war in OK. Die Vermieterin war sehr nett und hat sich bemüht mit mir russisch zu reden.
- Es sollten im Vorfeld den Schülern Fotos der Unterkünfte zur Verfügung gestellt werden, um sich ein besseres Bild über die Wohnsituation zu machen. Da fällt der Entschluss leichter sich für eine schuleigene Wohnung oder für eine Gastfamilie zu entscheiden.
6. Persönlicher Eindruck
Wie schon zu Eingangs erwähnt bin ich mit dem Ergebnis meines Sprachaufenthaltes in der Sprachschule „PRIVJET“ sehr zufrieden. Meine Erwartungen wurden übertroffen.
Ich habe Lehrer vorgefunden, die absolut professionell und pädagogisch arbeiten und die es verstehen, auch den schwierigsten Fällen – so wie es der meinige- die Russische Sprache.
mit Geduld, Beharrlichkeit und Verständnis zu vermitteln. Meine beiden Utschitelnizas, Inga und Marina, haben es geschafft mich auch weiterhin für die russische Sprache zu interessieren und sie sind dafür verantwortlich, dass ich meinen nächsten Sprachkurs ebenfalls bei der Sprachschule „PRIVJET“ absolvieren werde.
